본 다목적 연구용 선박의 효과적인 연구수행과 연구자의 안전을 위하여, 자동항법(Auto-pilot)시스템이 탑재되었으며, 열화상카메라, 다중빔소나, 동적항주자세 제어장치 등 첨단장치가 탑재되었습니다. 또한 선체 내부를 폼으로 충진하여 어떠한 상황에서도 선박이 침몰하지 않도록 하였으며, 이러한 최신공법의 적용을 통해 남극세종과학기지 연구자의 생명을 담보할 수 있도록 하였습니다.

In order to ensure the efficient research activities o f this multi-purpose research boat and the safety of researchers, it is equipped with high-tech equipment such as Auto-pilot system, thermal imaging camera, multi-beam sonar, and dynamic navigation control device. In addition, the interior of the hull is filled with special foam to effectively prevent shipwreck accidents under any circumstances. By applying these latest manufacturing techniques, the lives of researchers at the Sejong Science Base in Antarctica will be effectively guaranteed.
